A Glimpse of the Past...

Renewal of my Religious Vows during my one year assignment in Baloi, Lanao del Norte

when I was a theologian in the OFM. The ministry of the OFM there was "Dialogue of Faith and Life"

with the Muslims and to minister the small Catholic community.

Signing the documents of my Renewal of Vows.

Thanking the community for a memorable year with them. With me are two

American Friars, Elgar and Erwin (in white) and Pons (in brown),

a Pinoy, delegated by the Minister Provincial to officiate the Renewal.

Reunion...

After several bottles comes the musical prowess...

Reunion...

Art and Wowo (just like the good old days) who just arrived continued their discussion.

Wowo who still had a hangover let Art drive his pick up. Art drove like there's no tomorrow.

joey, art, vic, wowo, raymund, john & fr. george (wara pa luluwasan an pulutan na papaitan kay nawawara an pampapait. Iniisipan na operahan either an kuting o an ayam san parokya para kuwaan sin apdo. One suggested to exhume the head kay basi naisabay paglubong an apdo by mistake. Nobody wanted to use the half digested grass of the goat para pampapait.)

Beer started to flow after breakeast, serving as appetizer before
lunch while waiting for others to arrive.

BATCH '81 Reunion

The sacrificial goat (we were unable to find a lamb) courtesy of the Parish Priest. After deliberating on the sacrifice she made we decided to bury the head after a solemn funeral rite. She will be forever remembered in the annals of Batch 81's history.

The doctor of the batch (Jun Bolunia) was not able to arrive early for the autopsy so we just decided to open her up to select the choicest cuts to be offered to the gods.

John Grafilo: "This goat is a virgin!" Joey: "Slice "hers" and offer it to the gods."

Batch '81 held a reunion at Donsol Parish hosted by Fr. George Fajardo last October 30. The last reunion of the batch was held a year after graduation. The recent reunion was not really planned. It was a fruit of last hour negotiation. Present were John, Joey, Vic, Raymund, Wowo, Art, Alvin, Charlie, Jun and the very accommodating host who provided each a case of beer. Fr. George also provided the sacrificial goat commenting that we could never be ordained because we can decapitate a poor animal without a blink of an eye and any sign of remorse. Jun Bolunia who arrived late in the afternoon because he still had some patients to attend to, sent an advance party, a lot of tilapias and big crabs (alimango) from his fishpond. It was her ever kind mother, Ma'm Azon, who brought the fish and the crabs early in the morning. The reunion, although not everybody was able to attend, was a happy one. It was really long overdue to have such. A time to renew and deepen our bond. We are looking forward to hold another one in the future. This time it will be well planned. We will be deciding then on what plans and decisions to make and maybe direction to take.
